Alyssa West is passionate about supporting individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities. Alyssa graduated from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in American Sign Language Interpreting, with a minor in Psychology. She utilized her interpreting skills within medical and mental health settings. A year after graduating, Alyssa went on to pursue a Master’s of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling. She graduated with her Master’s from Indiana University Purdue University Columbus in 2015. She has experience working in a mental health capacity in a variety of settings, including: community corrections, inpatient, residential treatment, community based, and outpatient. Alyssa has focused her work on serving individuals with ID/DD since graduating in 2015. Alyssa obtained licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in March of 2018. One of Alyssa’s focuses is working with youth and young adults who engage in sexually maladaptive/abusive behaviors. Alyssa completed training, and is a credentialed sexually maladaptive youth clinician (CSAYC). Alyssa utilizes a strengths based approach when working with the clients she serves and their families. “ Alyssa provides only services funded by the Medicaid Waiver.
