Renee is a board-certified music therapist. She earned her equivalency in music therapy from Appalachian State University, North Carolina after earning her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Gustavus Adolphus College, Minnesota. She had just completed her internship with University Hospitals of Cleveland in Ohio this past January and is excited to start her first music therapy career with Insights Consulting! She is passionate about understanding how the nuances of music elements interact with the core of who we are as human beings. Her area of interest has been inspired by observations through therapeutic experiences with clients with developmental disabilities, patients in palliative care, memory care, emergency departments, and psychiatric units during her practicums and internship. Although she often gravitates toward a person-centered approach, Renee strives to take an integrative approach, utilizing a combination of therapeutic tools and perspectives to best help her clients and their loved ones. She continues to grow her musicianship through songwriting and serving in a church worship band, playing the piano, guitar, or cajon. In her spare time, Renee enjoys engaging in outdoor activities, reading, and exploring new skills.
