Michelle Hamilton started in the residential field with volunteering for Special Olympics in West Virginia as a teenager. She attended Tidewater Community College in Virginia Beach, Virginia and continued volunteering for Special Olympics. Michelle started her career working with people with developmental disabilities in 1996, where she worked as Direct Care Staff in group homes in Huntington, West Virginia. She moved to Indiana and attended Indiana Bible College. Michelle got back into the residential field in 2002, working for Indianapolis area providers. Michelle started working for Insights in February 2007 as a Direct Support Professional. In April of 2007 she was transitioned into a Team Leader role and was responsible for four different residential sites. In 2011, Michelle was nominated and received the Keystone Award through INARF (an annual award presented to the most outstanding direct support professional (DSP) employed in the Indiana disability service-delivery system). In 2012, Michelle was promoted to the position of Coordinator of Quality Outcomes. “I love how Insights works together as a Team! In her spare time she enjoys going to her church, spending time with family and friends, going to movies, bowling, reading and traveling.
