Emily graduated from Ball State University in 2000 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. During her time at Ball State, Emily began working at a group-home serving individuals with disabilities and dual diagnosis. It was through this work, that it became clear this was her passion and calling. Emily then graduated from Roosevelt University in 2005 with her Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from Roosevelt University, and obtained her LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) in the state of IL. After relocating to IN, Emily is currently in the process of transferring her license to the state of IN where she will be a LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor). Throughout these many years in the field, Emily has served in various capacities including; QMRP, Behavior Specialist, Director of Clinical Services, Director of Social Work, and Team Lead for Mental Health and Substance abuse for United Healthcare. Emily has a wide range of experience working with children, adults, and geriatrics.
Emily has a strong desire to help others and is especially passionate about working with individuals with developmental differences. Emily believes in meeting individuals where they are and takes a strength-based approach in her work. She is also a believer that people may present as being different, but in the end they all share the same needs and desires and can learn so much from one another. Being a mom and a provider has given Emily different perspectives and has made her even more empathetic and passionate about helping individuals and families.
